Can I wash my white socks with my bath towels?

I don't have enough white clothes to do a load so I'm considering washing all my towels and socks together. Also I have a white cotton t-shirt that hasn't been washed before, can I throw that in too?

If you wash them in HOT water and enough bleach to kill any bacteria (about 1/2 cup in a FULL washer w/agitator and 1/4 cup in a full HE washer), it should not be a problem. I do that all the time. I turn the t-shirts inside out.





An equal amount of baking soda in the wash (I put it right in the washer drum with the laundry) doubles the whitening power of the bleach, softens the laundry, and leaves it smelling clean and fresh.





I do dry the socks and t-shirts separately from the towels because I don't use any fabric softener on towels, as it greatly reduces their absorbency -- and because I dry the towels on high temp and the cottons on low or medium temp.





I use white vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser to strip out all detergent. 1 cup in a full washer w/agitator load or 1/2 cup in an HE washer is sufficient.





After I put the towels in the dryer, I then put the socks and t-shirts through an extra rinse and spin, using some fabric softener in the FS dispenser. This prevents any static cling in the clothes. This step is totally optional.





I dry them on Low or Medium heat when the towels are finished.

Socks and towels are both usually similar cotton, and should be fine. I often wash them together. But be careful with the T-shirt. Not only can it shrink quite a bit in the dryer the first time or two, but if it's washed with the towels and socks all the time, it will wear out faster from the constant rubbing against the terry cloth.
I personally wouldn't. If you have enough white clothes to last 2 weeks than wait extra week. It is a personal Hygiene things with me. Plus if you use bleach with whites you could fade green stripes on white towels I would use colored bleach with those towels.
Depends. I wash towels in hot water. White socks should be fine in hot water; shirt, maybe not as hot water could shrink it as it is 100% cotton. And I'm guessing your towels are white?
