Baby bath towels ';what would you do';?

This is kind of a silly ';what would you do'; question. :-)

I'm due with a little baby boy in a week and a few days after having twin girls. Obviously I bought new boy clothes (as well as got a ton of hand-me-downs from his cousin yay!) but one thing I just realized I never bought was ';boy'; bath towels. The baby bath towels I had for my twins were ';girl'; ones. Pink, purple, etc.

Would you bother buying new towels? I mean... it's just a towel. lol I'm not using them anymore because my girls are way too big for them now.

It seems like a waste to buy new ones when I have all these perfectly good pink towels.

What would you do? I can certainly *afford* it but it just feels really wasteful!Baby bath towels ';what would you do';?
No I wouldn't buy new ones. I had a boy and lots of boy bath towels, my first daughter didn't get new towels and now when this little girl in born in 5 weeks she will use blue and green towels too. I got them each cute little pink bath robes, but honestly it doesn't matter what they are dried off with. He won't care that the towel is pink.Baby bath towels ';what would you do';?
By the time your son would want boy stuff he will be way too big for the infant towels. I wouldn't worry. Its not like you are going to be using the towels in public.

If I have a son next he will be using a lot of the baby stuff we already have. I wouldn't dress him in a pink tutu but he certain will be using a pink towel! Stuff you use in the privacy of your home doesn't have to be gender specific.
I would just use the purple one's. Purple is kind of unisex nowadays so wouldn't be so bad as using a pink one lol But unless you're going to take photos whilst he's in a towel straight from bathtime, then I guess it doesn't really matter either way!

Like you said, 3 kids under 2 is going to be hard work, so what ever works with the time and energy you have spare is the best option!

I'm pretty sure he wont remember or see anything wrong with it anyway!
i bought my daughter some bath towels and they are just sitting in the cabinet. i find it a lot easier just to use regular towels that we use they are bigger and thicker than the other ones that she has, but in your case whos going to care? why go and spend more money on things that you have that are in good condition? whos going to say oh why is that boy in a pink towel? its only after bath time.

so i wouldnt go out and buy towels and jst waste money
lol I'd use the pink towels but maybe pick up 1 blue one for picture sake, I wouldn't want ALL my sons bath pics to be in a pink towel but I wouldn't buy all new ones eiether. Yellows and whites can be used for boys or girls too so your sure to have a few of thoses kicking around anyway. Good luck from a mom of twin boys :)
I have twin boys who are almost 10 yrs old. I also have a 4 month old daughter. I saved their bath towels...they were blue, yellow, green....my sister used them for her daughter and now I use them (plus I bought 3 pink ones) for my daughter. I really don't think it matters. Of course, when I had my first I would've thought it mattered but for some reason I don't feel the same way now. I guess I'm wiser the older I get. Ha Ha
lol, I still had a bunch of stuff left over from my daughter. All of our normal bath towels are pink (bathroom theme) Which he uses those towels too.

I still had pink mattress sheets, which he will use those once in awhile if his regular one is dirty and needs to be washed. lol
I wouldn't really bother...if you already have towels, no matter what color they are I would use them again. It isn't like your little boy is going to notice. I'm saving all my things for my next child...even if it is a girl I'll still use the blue towels for her.
You know what, I wouldnt say it mattered. If you cant be bothered going to buy them due to being pregnant, dont sweat it. You might get them as a gift.

I prob would buy a few boy towels, but if I didnt get round to it, it wouldnt bother me
I wouldn't bother, those tiny little towels can get expensive!

It's not like anyone outside of your house will see him in them, anyway. We have all ';boyish'; towels but if our next is a girl I'm not going to bother going out and buying different towels.
I think it's possible to get a little ';color crazy'; when it comes to babies. I'd use the pink towels. I mean, we have pink bath towels and my husband uses them...
Lol, I would just use the towels you have. No one is going to notice and if they do, who cares? All it does is dry your baby off. No harm, no foul.
I wouldn't bother honestly, you can use that money to get him something else, it's not like you take him out in public with them on, so don't worry about it!
If it doesn't bother you then I say go for it! The kid doesn't know the difference! I've put girl pajamas on my son before (when he was little) because we didn't have his. He didn't care.
to be perfectly honest, i wouldn't at all bother! if you've got fine towels, just use them... who cares about the color?!!
i wouldnt let him use the girly towels! if your at home use the old blankets from your girls too. its one thing if your in public but if your at home what does it matter! i would just keep them lol
I wouldn't buy new towels. The point is to dry your baby off... I don't think the color should matter. Congratulations!
i wouldn't waste my money on new towels...they are only to dry him off..keep your money for other things you'll need down the road...he will not know the difference between a pink or blue towel just yet...
Use the pink ones! :-)
I wouldnt replace them. They are still good and can get some use out of it id use them again.
only real men wear pink!

go for it,dont waste things!
How old are your twins? I have 5 year old twins! (boy and girl)

Your just using the towels in the house and I would use them! I had a girl before and then the twins! My girl is 10 years old now! So when I had the twins, I had girl stuff so I used it! You can buy one blue towel or hooded towel for the boy but I would use the other towels too! Just buy a cute boy robe or something and then still use the other ones! So if you have company, you can use the boy towel and if home alone, use the girl towels!

CONGRATULATIONS AND GOOD LUCK!

New bath towels have so much lint?

How many times do I have to wash my new towels before the lint problem ends?

I got new towels last week and they are dark brown, light brown and red. (2 of each). I washed all of them 4 times and dried them in the dryer 4 times (no fabric softener) and they are still leaving a little lint behind after I use them.

They're not total crap towels, they are ';mainstay'; brand.

The lint screen is always cleaned after each dry.

The lint comes off all over me after I use the towels.

Please help me! Any suggestions will be appreciated!New bath towels have so much lint?
put them in the dryer on ';fluff';, so there isnt alot of heat. put something heavy in with them, like a tennis shoe %26amp; just keep checking your lint tray until it finally comes clean. if things get too ';hot'; put one wet towel in with the dry ones. i had the same problem - very aggravating after spending the time %26amp; money to find exactly what i wanted!New bath towels have so much lint?
Most new towels are like this. It might take quite a few washings, but eventually they'll stop shedding.
Since you didn't use fabric softener before, trying using it now. Maybe that will help.
try washing them with a 1/2 cup of white vinegar, and then dry them.
I have the same problem, I hate it

  • Would You Spend $20 on a Bath Towel?

I did, but I only got it for $2.00 !!!!!!!!!

Tell me, please, if it's so costly to begin with ($20), and goes on sale 4 months later does it really mean it was worth $2 to begin with, and did I get a bargain? Your thoughts are all helpful.Would You Spend $20 on a Bath Towel?
If you got a $20 towel for $2 you got a great deal. I like high quality towels, but I don't think you need to spend $20 to get them.Would You Spend $20 on a Bath Towel?
I love my $30 bath towel every time I use it.
No way! If I wanted to waste money, I would surely find something better to waste it on.

It was probably only worth $2 all along, if not less. But yeah, you sure did get a bargain.
well people do say you get what you pay for but $2 that really dont sound like a bad deal
only if it felt like heaven
I spent $130 on 4 sets (bath, hand, and rag) and I can tell a difference, to the better, from the cheapo stuff I had.
never in a million years. 5 bucks the most l will spend but not 20 dollars noooooooooooo wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. l can buy a few other things that l would need.
I would never spend $20.00 on a bath towel. However if it should go on sale for $2.00, sure.

There is a huge mark up on all merchandise, that is why they can have such sales. You may have gotten a bargain, but it also may only have been worth that to begin with.
depends on the quality. towels are made by getting a fine mesh lining and hooking loops of material through the holes in the mesh, expensive towels have loads of these ';loops';, try look at the towel close up and you'll see what I'm talking about, if there's so much loops that you can barely see the lining then i would pay the $20!

Bath towels keep losing their color in blotches....?

I have the weirdest problem...starting to think i have the creeping crud....my towels all seem to fade once water hits them...in blotches...i used to think it was the washing machine but once took shower, used a new towel andit got all blotchy....then i thought it must be soap i am using...but keep switching and still have issue...then i thought maybe its my makeup but it happens to my sons towels too...no he doesnt wear makeup!!! i have some older towels that it doesnt happen to so thinking dyes are different now...sometimes i have shirts that this happens too also but its mostly towels...again it seems once they get wet...any thoughts? i am losing my mind! and i dont want to have to have all white towels although i guess i will if i have to!!! Thanks!Bath towels keep losing their color in blotches....?
I noticed the same thing would happen after I wipe my face on the towel when I brush my teeth, I guess the toothpaste was extra whitening!

It's probably because the dyes in the towels can't hold up the the extreme cases of water! lol... everything these days has lost quality...Bath towels keep losing their color in blotches....?
Is anyone using topical medications? Are you having the same problem with sheets and pillow cases? Do you have a lot of chlorine in your water? What is the chemical content of your water?

LOL! Sorry to answer a question with a question but since I don't have THE answer I thought I'd give you some suggestive questions to think about.

OMGosh.... I think the first answerer may have it... there's peroxide in those whitening tooth products!

    Good luck!

How many times do you use a bath towel before washing it?

well, i prefer to air dry. jkHow many times do you use a bath towel before washing it?
Once does it for me. Otherwise that wet towel is going to hang around getting moldy and musty and taking the rest of the laundry with it.How many times do you use a bath towel before washing it?
About three times for me.... sometimes in the summer I wash them a little more often due to high humidity and the tendency for them to get smelly faster.

If you hang used towels up promptly, and don't allow them the lay around getting moldy or mildewed, you don't have to wash them every time you use them.
Redneck or not, I think once is enough for one towel. ^^ Just own a bunch of towels and it's no problem. X3
    once
Have a bar on the back wall, behind the curtain. Hang it there to dry between uses, use about three or four times before changing it. Never becomes musty.
    once, duh!!!
    until it stinks
3 times in summer and once in monsoon and winter. cos it remains wet in monsoon and winter and stinks.
    about 3 times
    a week (7 times)
When it doesn't smell fresh anymore. Why would you need to wash it after one time? The point of a towel is to use it when you are already clean....so it shouldn't be getting that dirty. Also the people that said they wash it after one use clearly aren't concerned with cutting down on the amount of laundry they do and helping out the whole global warming thing!
    2 times
i use it once then hang to dry on my bedroom door, then use once more then wash!
My nose tells me when it's time for a change
hi if its just for your own personal use hang it to dry and use it two or three times before laundering it would'nt be nice if someone else used it after you particularly when you think about the areas that it has dried gross

What would you do if i turned into a Bath Towel?

It was a normal bath towel and i was the picture on the front life-sized.

You had only just got out of the shower when you noticed me.

    What would you do ?

And what would you say to me

ALL IN FUNWhat would you do if i turned into a Bath Towel?
burn youWhat would you do if i turned into a Bath Towel?
Once upon a time, I went for an interview. The room was silent and the interviewers were expected me to say something. My head was drenched in sweat as I nervously reached for a bottle of water. As I reached forward, I heard a wet squelching noise and a long fart. I saw brown substance seeping down my leg and trickling onto the floor. Quickly, I ran to the toilet to relieve myself.

Wow, that was more erotic than I thought.
    I'd turn you around lol!

    then get an another one

    get changed

and put you in the washing =]

I wouldnt say anything tho lol
I would wrap you around my head to protect myself from the

Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal, of course!
hahaha this question made me laugh!! but seriously i would be so shocked at first and i wouldn't know what to do.

After using your bath towel do you wash it or use it again?

How about just a hair towel?

    How about your kid's towel?

Just wondering....we do both really...but I do soooo much laundry I wondered if re-use would be such a bad idea? After using your bath towel do you wash it or use it again?
as long as you can air it out not bunch it up you can use it for a few days. In the summer i only do about three days because even with the air on ( don't keep my house cold) the towel begins to smell.

In the winter i keep it for a weekAfter using your bath towel do you wash it or use it again?
An environmentalist would tell you to reuse it. A cleaning fanatic to wash it every time. I grew up using towel holders for decorations, towels were washed every time, no question. But hubbie reuses towels for a month.

Reusing the towels saves the planet by using less water and electricity (which comes from fossil fuels). It also saves money, since you have to pay for detergent, water, electricity, wear and tear on your washer and dryer etc.

I notice no difference in the towels as long as they dry completely between uses. That said, if they do not they quickly develop nasty odors since bacteria can thrive in them, especially if you apply something like leave in conditioners before toweling your hair. The unsightliness of seeing towels hung up over something bothers me, as does the occasional build up of mold where wet towels are constantly hung (need to avoid that - definitely a health hazard).

So it is up to you, are you an environmentalist, a clean fanatic, or somewhere in the middle? I think with more people going green towels will be reused more often, and no longer will towel holders be considered ornamental in bathrooms.... or was that just my mom doing that anyway?

If you do decide to hang your towels to dry between uses, make sure it is somewhere they can dry completely to avoid potentially dangerous mildew and mold build up.
We use our bath towels several times before washing them. Same for my ';just hair'; towel and our babies' towels. After all, it IS clean water you're drying off, isn't it? ;)

Plus, it really is too wasteful to launder them all the time like some people do. It's not very ';eco-friendly';, either. Think about all the water, energy and waste we use when we do our regular laundry. Why add to it more than we have to? Towels are clean, they just need to be hung to dry. Throw them in the wash about every other week, and then hang out to dry (if you can) and you'll be just fine! The only towels I recommend washing regularly are hand towels and kitchen towels, since they catch a lot of germs and bacteria.
We reuse them for about a week, will wash them earlier than that if they start to not feel fresh. But washing every day, unless the towel got really dirty for some reason (and why would it if you're just using it to dry off when you get out of the shower?) that's incredibly wasteful, lots of water and electricity to wash and dry a towel every single time it's used.
We reuse our bath towels for 5-7 days... then we switch. The towel I use for my hair (I have very long hair) could really go longer than that, but I just always throw it in at the same time to be washed.

My kid's towels could really be stretched longer too, but I just wash it at the same time as ours anyways.

The towels you use to dry off are basically clean... its just the wetness you have to watch out for. If you have a good place for the towels to dry out after each use, then reusing is a good idea... but if they're bundled up or in a damp place, then reusing is not a good idea, because that dampness is a place for bacteria to grow... even the limited amount that might be present.
both mine and the kids we use for most the week.. just as long as they are hung after they are okay, think your clean when you use them lol.. if they got really wet i wont use them as long, but usually that is not the case.. its fine to re use.. no need to waste water.. or you can always just stick them in the dryer when your done.. and re-use.. but if you wash them after each shower.. you will wear your towels out fast, not to mention get a nice water bill lol..
After I use my towel (after showering), I hang it up and use it once again the next day before washing it. The way I look at it, I'm drying off a clean body right from the shower; there's no sense in immediately throwing it into the wash just because it got ';wet'; basically. If I use a towel on anything ';dirty';, obviously it only gets used that one time.
I tend to wash mine after every use. Its a habit i picked up from my childhood. I dont think its necissarily wrong or gross to use it more than once so long as it isnt bunched and smelly. But even if your just drying a clean body you are still getting excess soap, dry skin, and even leftover dirt onto the towel. So i would say 2-3 times max for reuse.
I always re-use my towel and make my husband as well and my baby, if it doesn't have a major stink to it then I use it up to over a week, just make sure you air dry them really well, a drying rack helps, but most definitely re-use, you are reducing waste, your part on saving the planet, big hugs
Face cloths I wash after every use (I use them to wash my face and wash makeup off). Bath towels - for us and the kids - I'd say we use them about 2-3 times and then I wash them. I figure we're clean when we get out of the shower/bath, and I always hang them so they dry completely in between uses.
I use it over and over again- we are a family of 5, so we typically have a lot of laundry. My mom does it, but my older brother has to do his own...

I don't see why you should wash it every three days- its not like the towel has all the dirt on it or anything.
I use this http://www.puntotre.net/estetica/453-454鈥? for showers and drying my face

I also use a normal towel for my feet and also use a bidet towel and wash everything once a week.

Edit: I am the ONLY one using my own towels, we ALL have our own towels of course.
I definitely use them again. Unless my husband throws them on the floor of our bedroom. Those I have to re-wash.

But kids? Absolutely! We tubby two kids every day (summertime) and I'm not doing 2 extra loads of towels a week! That's crazy.

You are clean when you get out of the shower! The water you are drying off your body is clean water. What's the problem?

    :)
I keep it for the week.

I have a friend that insists on washing it each time. It's a sure way to wear our your towels faster.

I have been holding onto my bath towels for a week forever. No problem that I know of.
    I wash them daily.

They get one towel a day if they need more than one bath, they reuse the towel.

I only use one towel to dry myself. I dry myself, dress, then dry my hair.
With my kids, they use thier towels like 2 times out of the week and we wash them, also with our towels, me and my husband we use them 3 times and wash them.
we each reuse our towel 2 times..then it goes down to the wash.....

    my baby uses hers 3times....

but make sure you wash the wash cloths after using them...you actually wash your dirty body with them....
we use our bath towels about 2-3 times then wash it.. I wouldn't use it more then 3 times before washing.. it.
My husband uses towels twice before throing them in the dirty clothes, but I can't use them anymore than once, and never have. It creeps me out too much.
In our house, everyone has their own towels, which are washed about once per week.

Washing them after each use is a terrible waste of water.
I reuse a bath towel for a week or so and just make sure to hang it when I'm done so that it dries quickly.
As long as you or the kiddos are clean after the bath (LOL!) then it's fine to use them several times before washing! I wash mine once a week for myself - my kiddos, I usually wash after three days! :)
I use mine like 2-3 times before washing... But for some reason I wash my son's after every bath. Hmmm... Maybe I should wait and reuse it like once... LOL thanks for asking this question! :)
I wash them every two weeks. In my house we all have are own towels and we wash them when someone gets sick.
We reuse our towels and wash them when we wash our clothing.

We are clean when we come out of the shower... so I see no reason to use a new towel everyday.

    We reuse our hair towels.

    My kids do the same.
We re-use our bath towels a couple of times. It's really hard to get my kids to hang theirs up to dry after using though.
All towels are washed and hung on the washing line , to be dried and used for an other time
I use it again - for 2-3 days
    Same as Princess.
We resuse towels. Having just been used on my clean, fresh from the shower body, they aren't dirty.
I use our families towels for about a week then wash them.

Bath Towels re-use or swap daily?

I recently have found I may a freak. Every day after I shower I use a fresh bath towel. Many guys I deployed with use their one towel all week 5-7 days. We have easy access and time to do laundry so not sure why one would want to re-use same nasty bath towel. One guy has not washed his sheets in 120 days, that answers itself he is nasty.

    Dude, you are a FREAK!!!

I use my towel for like a month straight. Everyday after i shower, I just chuck my towel in with my dirty clothes from that day and pull it out the next time i shower. Its usually a little still wet, but thats OK. I'm just gonna get it wet again.

However, I do have a separate towel just to dry off my balls. Seriously, I'm not gonna dry my face off with the same towel that i use to dry my balls with. Thats just gay.Bath Towels re-use or swap daily?
well i would not use my towels i get a fresh one every day

i sure would not to go out with him
I use a fresh towel every time I shower, and change sheets weekly
I personally use a towel 3-5 times. You are CLEAN when you dry yourself off, so why do you need a clean towel each time? (do you use a fresh towel everytime you dry your hands after washing them?) Besides I have 3 kids and that would be 5 towels a day to wash - 35 towels a week. That's a lot of wasted water, detergent and time, IMO.
I use two every day. One for my face and hair, and one for the rest of me. I switch EVERY DAY. I think it's nasty to reuse towels. Especially the one that has been up close and personal with your butt.

as long as u make sure to let it air out your towel out everyday the towel should not be ';nasty'; you use it AFTER you get out of the shower right? shouldnt u be clean?

i use a different towel for my face and my body tho cuz i think thats nasty.

if you dont mind doing your laundry go ahead. ur not a freak. its not ';nasty'; tho.
Reuse! Twice... Please, how dirty can a towel be after one shower?? (I was also gonna say - think about the environment! - but I guess I would come across as one of ';those'; Europeans...)
I can get up to two weeks out of a towel, but I do not have time to shower every day. I have a separate hand towel that I take to the gym every day. I sweat profusely and I use the hand towel to swab the dirt off. If I start to get a little rank, I have gold bond creme for my naughty parts and a good thick layer of aftershave on my chest covers up whatever other smells I have going on.
reuse. change them every 2 days
i would use a bath towel twice. Especially if I have showered not bathed. My husband and daughter use a fresh one each time though - but thats because they leave them lying on the floor rather than hanging them on the rail!

  • Ladies, I ask you, what in the world is the purpose of bath towels?

Now, you'd think this a no brainer.... However!!!!!... this very subject can and will be a source of contention between males and females (or whoever the more decorative of any pair may be) for as long as bath towels are in use... Some less astute of our species will not note the matched and decorative , often more-expensive-than-the-norm bath towels that are really not meant to be used and GOD himself may be accessed through prayer on my personal line if you have grabbed these to dry the rims of your car.....as my beloved has done on more than one occassion...truly it was not an act of passive aggression as many of you may be thinking... no simply another trait of the typically ';Y'; chromosome dominated and decor-challenged mate I love... I did not birth daughters and so I have gotten through this particular battle in the ever raging war between the sexes by buying a great number of large white towels that I can bleach in the case of severe towel misconduct and have given up the decorative towel thing until I am a very old widow. All colored towels are now theirs to grab from their own special I-need-a-towel-for-God-only-knows-what place. There! The one with the most inner peace wins!!!!!Oh, yes... well, and no one is hung up to dry but the towels......Ladies, I ask you, what in the world is the purpose of bath towels?
well multi purpose.Ladies, I ask you, what in the world is the purpose of bath towels?
To be quite honest, because i dont have time to walk around my apartment naked to air dry...otherwise i probably wouldnt need a towel....
Well, if you don't have one of those cool showers with the air jets in it to dry you off; bath towels can be very handy for drying off. They can also be very decorative if properly folded and hung in the bathroom.
doesn't everyone need something soft and fuzzy once in a while
keep dry and clean lint free
To dry yourself off and not get the floor wet.
What do you do Bob, drip dry after showering?
    to dry off

as long as u make sure to let it air out your towel out everyday the towel should not be ';nasty'; you use it AFTER you get out of the shower right? shouldnt u be clean?

i use a different towel for my face and my body tho cuz i think thats nasty.

if you dont mind doing your laundry go ahead. ur not a freak. its not ';nasty'; tho.
Reuse!
My husband and daughter use a fresh one each time though - but thats because they leave them lying on the floor rather than hanging them on the rail!
change the catagory of question ??

Ladies, I ask you, what in the world is the purpose of bath towels?

What do you do Bob, drip dry after showering?
    to dry off
there cute!!!!!!!! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!and they can help you decorate LOL LOL !!!!!!!!!! like hot pink ,oarnge, blue!!!!!!!

    24. Why do we wash bath towels? Aren't we clean when we use them?

hi24. Why do we wash bath towels? Aren't we clean when we use them?
Wet towels are a great breeding place for all kinds of bacteria and dirt floating in the air. Ever noticed that used towels do not smell like soap after a few days?24. Why do we wash bath towels? Aren't we clean when we use them?
Well they need 2 be clean when you use them you wash your clothes right well you need 2 wash bed linens %26amp; towels as well otherwise they start to stink
you wash them cuz even though you think you are clean your body is always producing natural oils and dead skin
our body produces skin dander, so after we take a shower we remove some of it therefore, washing it removes of it. So, the next time you use a clean towel that dander is removed.
Blood, Vomit, Feces, and Urine, just to mention a few.
Yeah, but they actually start to stink after a bit.
hahahhaahah, and if you use a Antibacterial soap. I would just think that you want to dry your hands now.
The moisture attracts bacteria. Wash it every 3 to 6 days.

How many times do you use your bath towel before washing it?

One time...my fiancee is trying to get me to change to twice. How many times do you use your bath towel before washing it?
I just use my best judgement. If the towel smells even a little i toss it in the hamper. It seems that the faster the towel dries the better chance you will have at getting another use from it. Also only reuse your towel if it is one you dried with after a really good shower. If you only hosed off odds are there will be some body soil on your towel now, and that is just gross. How many times do you use your bath towel before washing it?
I throw ours in the wash weekly. As long as they dry well, between showers, then they are clean (if they don't, you could get mold growth on them). I have never become ill from using my towel for 6-7 days, and I think it's a waste of water to wash them daily.

    Cheers!
wow. I use two (2) towels @ each shower. The one that I use for my hair, I hang up to dry ( the towel I use on my body always goes into the washer.)

then the next day I use THAT towel for my body...on and on....
2-3 times. Mostly depends on when I do laundry.

To the person above me: You're clean when you get out of the shower therefore you're not making your towels anymore dirty.
two or three times, it's only clean water you are wiping off. My husband thinks I am gross for using it more than once, but he has just started using them more than once himself....
Only once. I have tons of towels and like a fresh, clean one every day.
once, why take a shower if your just going to rub nasties back on yourself!
i wash it after the 3 time for baths 5 time for showers ....lol

    funny question

    twice.
    once then wash it
    once.

    i own many towels lol

When do you use wash cloth, bath towel and bath sheet?

What really is the difference between bath towel and bath sheet and when do you use them? When do you use wash cloth, bath towel and bath sheet?
A wash cloth (or flannel in the UK) is for you to wash your face at the sink. You don't want a whole towel draping in the sink and getting wet so all you need is a small square!

The only difference between a bath towel and bath sheet, is that one is smaller and a *standard* size (a bath towel) and one is larger and not standard size (a bath sheet)

I use bath sheets because they wrap around better and are more cosy!

Also better for the *next size up* type of people ;0)When do you use wash cloth, bath towel and bath sheet?
A wash cloth is a course mini-looking-towel that you use to wash your body parts in the shower. A bath towel is a larger size towel that enables you to dry your whole body once you get out of the shower.

  • What is your favorite colour of your bath towel?

I bought a new bath towel and I will tell you the colour laterWhat is your favorite colour of your bath towel?
I love the color maroon, I have a towel that I love to use and when I get it I am very happy:]What is your favorite colour of your bath towel?
Sort of an odd question, but my favorite color for a bath towel is blue.
I agree, this is an odd question, but I like purple. :)

Washing and Drying new bath towels?

After I finished washing and drying brand new towels...when I took them out...there was like fuzz balls everywhere on them...I tried washing it again...but its still there...there 100% cotton...

How do I get rid of them?? Keep washing and drying them??Washing and Drying new bath towels?
    Too cheap !!

Take them back. Buy some with longer threads. You get what you pay for lol sorry :)Washing and Drying new bath towels?
Pilling usually occurs on towels that are made from short fibers, which break easily and continually throughout the life of the towel. Abrasion during washing and drying is one culprit that causes the broken fibers to form small balls that cling to the surface of the towel. Try a lint roller to remove them or wrap tape around your hand (sticky side up) and press over the towels to lift the balls. Also be sure to clean the lint filter in your dryer after every use.

My hint: Place a large piece of nylon netting in the dryer along with the towels. The netting will tumble against them, causing the fuzz balls to fall off.

To avoid this problem in the future, buy towels that are labeled combed cotton. This fabric is made with the longest length of fibers, which are looped and do not break easily. These towels may cost more, but they will perform better and last longer. Remember, buying the best quality you can afford is worth it.
Wow, have never heard of fuzz balls on Terry Cloth towels. I would return them to the store and exchange them. And I have been doing laundry for almost 60 years.
Happened to me, too. I use them to dry my shower, now.

Why do we wash BATH towels? Aren't we clean when we use them? If not?

You have never lived with 5 kids before, We are lucky if they use soap. Why do we wash BATH towels? Aren't we clean when we use them? If not?
Because they get wet, therefore, humid and humidity stinks! Why do we wash BATH towels? Aren't we clean when we use them? If not?
    hehehe......never really thought about it..
Whenever a person dries off with a towel, dead skin cells and oil are captured in the fibres of the towel. Hence the towel will get filthy and eventually need to be washed.
u have run out decent questions!
they are the biggest and work best when coming out from the tub after you've taken a bath.

Baths leave a film on you, better to shower afterwards.

No we are not clean after a bath. We are wet and wet things grow mold.
if you feel that way then don't wash yours
because you cant remove all bacteria from you. you would die, and you need to wash them before they get out of hand. ever wiped your butt and not got it all? $hit happens!

    hahahahahahahahahaha.
Because you wipe your butt on it. (lol)

Please mold grows with moisture and the smell is impossible to get out unless you wash them sometime.
a damp towel will eventually become mildew(y) and won't smell the same after some time... like when the towel first comes out of the laundry...smells good.
Using them will eventually make them smell 'stale', they then need to be freshened.
not quite!when we bathe all the germs does get off of our skin.have you ever noticed that when we bathe and wipe our skin really hard with the towel you see dirt.TIP:don't use a bathe towel to long.
Oil and sweat get on them.

Moist towels are also a good place for fungus, mold, and mildew to grow.
There is actually residual dead skin on you that the bath towel scrubs off when you dry. Also there may be left over soap or other elements that are in the water.
they will smeel awful if we will not wash them
Truth is no matter how hard we clean we still have dead skin cells on our body. Even after a shower or bath. We are never as clean as we think we are.

When you dry off you are trapping dead skin cells into the towel.
Dead skin from getting out of the shower is on them. I bleach my towels every single time.
You asked this yesterday and it wasn't that interesting then, surely you can come up with SOMETHING better.
And how do you know if a brown towel is really clean?
you wash them because they get wet. after a while of being wet and drying and getting wet and drying again they get stale. and a stale towel is just icky to use. thats why we wash them, to clean them of the dried water residue and to refresh them!
because they are wet and damp and after a couple uses staying in a moist place can cause the growth of mold and other bacteriums . This can be deemed unsanitary %26amp; cause a funky odor in the bathroom . and what the crap does this have to do with marriage and divorce ?
Because if we don't wash them they get mold and mildew from the constant wetting and drying. DUH
dont wash your and let others do theirs any problems
No one is 100% clean. Besides...

Sometimes, when the shower/bath is hot, you sweat right after getting off, and do you know where all that goes? Your towel.

And even if you don't sweat, your towel still absorbs the water on your body, and water + a nice cozy towel + hanging in a bathroom for a while = a nice mouldy towel. YUMMY!

But if you choose not to wash it.. that's your own liking, eh?
Yes but after we use them they get wet and then that causes them to be dirty. Plus the dead skin on your body and the oils are now on the towel.........
Because they are wet after we use them and little bacteria from the air come and adhere to the moist towel while it is drying. Do you fold it up after it dries from your using it? Or do you hang it on a hook in the bathroom? More bacteria from the air comes and sticks to it...including microscopic particles that may pop up out of toilet when you flush it (if you don't put the top down).

I often reuse a towel maybe once. But, in my house with 4 cats, I do wash my towels.
they accumulate the oils and skin particles we loosen when we take a shower. and after a time, they accumulate mold and mildew from the air, even the cleanest ones.
remove all the dead skin etc, and can you be sure you are 100% clean, I doubt it, just a lot cleaner than before, since you removed the dirty dead skin from your body.

Since the towel now has dead skin in it, it won't be clean for next time.
Just take a whiff at it after about a week or so and figure it out for yourself.

Why do we wash bath towels if we are clean when we use them?

The dampness of the towel after we dry ourselves off can grow mildew...and it's good to wash everything because everything gets dirty somehow! Why do we wash bath towels if we are clean when we use them?
are we really clean??????Why do we wash bath towels if we are clean when we use them?
because when the water gets on the towels and then they sit for a while..they start to stink.......but good realization
there's alot of bacterias in warm damp situations.
use the same one for 2 weeks straight, then smell it, you'll know why then

Have YOU ever stolen bath towels from a hotel/motel?

Honestly I have!!Have YOU ever stolen bath towels from a hotel/motel?
lol no...but I got some of those minature lotions and hand washes =)...only 1 of each I promise!Have YOU ever stolen bath towels from a hotel/motel?
yes, it was an accident though, honest.
I steal anything from Hotels that isn't nailed down lmfaoooo
Lol..no. Thought crossed my mind but I dont even use them anymore after all the bad things I have heard and seen about hotel/motel cleanliness. Half the time they dont even wash their stuff. I always bring my own towels and sometimes sheets too, or I'll sleep on top the sheets b/c trust me I've seen some bad things tht if I told you, you wouldnt want to ever stay at another hotel lol
    I didn't steal them, I borrowed them
Only once. But this was a while ago before they started charging people for taking things from the rooms. I didn't think I was stealing it. I thought it would make a nice souvenir of the place I stayed at. I guess it's because of people like me that they started charging.
No because I always over pack and only smaller items fit like soap or shampoo.
    And their pillow.
    --禄 Nope.
Nope, I don't wanna be charged for them later.
Yes, I have done that a couple of times.
only once... shhhh, don't tell them, though!!!
that is disgusting, do you know how many people use those? and do you know what they use them for? when I travel, I bring my own towels.
    Nope, only ashtrays
Nope. In fact, the opposite. I left one of my own towels at a B%26amp;B once, because I didn't want to carry it to my next port of call.
    haha nope :)
Yeah all the time. They rip you off so I might as well steal some towels. $5.00 for a bottle of water...WTF
    Yes, I have. =)
    No lol.

Who steals bath towels from hotels?

hehehe...we do...only if the towel has a nice design on it...like from the high class hotels...not that im high class...lol...but when we get to spoil ourselfs to a nice hotel...we take the towels as a little souvenier...=)Who steals bath towels from hotels?
I've taken many things... towels, pillow, all the cleaning products, soap, tissues, pens, paper, I once forgot and left an ash tray in my bag.Who steals bath towels from hotels?
do you know what happens to hotel towels? eww.

I stole a big fluffy bathrobe once, then I thought about it really hard...

no amount of washing can get rid of the skank on the towels and robes in hotels.

I gave the robe away... didn't want to because it was so fluffy... but I had to
I never stole bath towels, but I am embarrassed to admit that I stole a queen size blanket...one of those vellux ones that are real soft. Yeah, I am a loser.
quiet now hons!! hy gay partnbers steevie and daveyy hons in some better chains of hotell, that we have stayed in around the world if you see the fine print on the hotelld front desk or when you register there is a 5.00 charge on top of the hotell bill!1 you want there towels?? you pasy them extra hons they hve caught onn hons but you failed too mention the freee gideonn bibles hons!1 and the bedspreads curtains!1
    yo momma
they actually charge you for that stolen towels FYI :P
No, I have some at home
    Dishonest people do--so you are.
Thats kinda gross because just think..how many people have used that towel. Hmmm..I could think of cooler souveniers to bring home from a vacation...
There IS something satisfying about coming away with this kind of a free souvenir...especially if you paid a lot to stay there!
visitors usually who want to have a memorabillia or something to have some at home..
I do not. Think of it this way -- when someone starts stealing your towels (not the ones you stole), you are going to have to pay to replace them. Maybe you better start checking your tab to see if there are any handling charges of some type . . .

I figure I have lots of towels coming to me at some point in life because 36 nice bath towels were stolen while I was doing laundry over a two-year period . . . one here, a couple there.
LOL!!! I make great money, better than most, I stay at nice hotels and could afford to buy as many towels as I want. the fact remains, I always steal a towel, no matter what. great fricken question!

and whats with the fag saying huns all the time, what a loser.
i've never been charged for taking them

Why do we wash bath towels? Aren't we clean when we use them?lol!!?

We're not 100% clean after our bath. I guess that we wipe off extra grime and sweat no matter how little, every time we use our towels. Also, things like dead skin, dust etc., could gather on the towels and eventually gets it dirty. It is also hygienic to wash bath towels!!!Why do we wash bath towels? hmmmm gud point but day by day they get wet so they start smelling....maybe thats why!!!
uhhhh some people might be dirty when they use them.......its called hygiene and i hope you wash you towels.
Because once they start getting wet everyday then they will start to stink
Depends on whether anyone else uses the bath towel. Dunno 'bout normal people but I don't want to trust that other people's 5 minute showers clean them well enough. Plus hair has oils which come off on the towels.

How do you feel about your boyfriend using your bath towel when he had his own in another bathroom?

    get over it. no biggie.

-its called a washing machine.-How do you feel about your boyfriend using your bath towel when he had his own in another bathroom?
I always share bath towels with my man, I see no problem with it.Do you have certain hygeine prefrences? Because if you do, you should tell him first so you don't continue to be inadvertently grossed out. Or is it a space invasion problem, if you are living with him and sharing a bathroom, maybe be you should consider lightening up on the issue. How do you feel about your boyfriend using your bath towel when he had his own in another bathroom?
No and no. Be specific - 'this is your towel and please do not use mine'. Its not rude in the slightest. I do not wish to dry myself with a towel someone has used, boyfriend or husband. You don't know what he was wiping last. No one likes to have someone elses ******** on their body.
Assuming he is only using it after he showers, who cares he just washed himself. I would just make sure he isn't using it as a hand towel. Not everyone uses soap when they wash there hands, and water doesn't get rid of everything.
I am really weird when it comes to things like towels. I would be upset. Does he know NOT to touch your towel? If he doesn't, I would tell him how you feel about it.
I wouldn't like it. But I wouldn't get upset either. I'd just make sure he knows which towel is his.
I don't see a problem with using your bathtowel. As long as it gets washed, it should be fine.
Guys don't think about that stuff. Hide your towel or provide him with one in both bathrooms. :-)
That's sick you could get some gross diseases from that.
Don't be a lazy bastard, get your own towel!
I don't care. I live with my boyfriend and put it in my mouth so why would I care if he uses my towel?
did he bathe with it of dry off?

If he dryed off who cares he is clean

if he bathe with it then kick his ***!
    I'd be annoyed. Confront him.
leave he might use your toothbrush next
I'm fine with it. It gets washed.... My DH and I have been together for 15 years so it is a non-issue

What's a Good Bath Towel material?

I'm in the search for some good towels, What material would be the best and last the longest? I saw a Valour Cotton Texture, but I don't know........What's a Good Bath Towel material?
Don't buy velour. Velour is created when the cotton loops are cut and brushed, making it super soft. But when you cut the loops, you cut the absorbancy of the towel. That's why most velour towels still have loops on the opposite side...so it will absorb SOME. Look for fully looped towels, the more loops, the more absorbant. Also look for 100% cotton, or a mix of cotton and modal, which is a beech tree fiber. Modal is very soft and absorbant. My personal fave is microcotton. It's lightweight, dries quickly, and ultra absorbant. What's a Good Bath Towel material?
I am pretty sure most of them are cotton, ';valour'; is the finish. It is kind of the pattern in which they put the threads together. I think! lol

But I would just look for higher priced ones, if you are in the store the weight of the towel is an indication of how good it will be, also if it is cheaply priced it is probably cheap. Dont know if I helped any but I hope so!
Microfiber waffle weave is more absorbent than cotton towels and they are hypoallergenic. I use them for everything, kitchen, bath, car, and cleaning rags.

    Super soft bath towels?

We got these amazing, super soft bath towels as an engagement present. They tag says ';Feather Touch'; and that it's 100% cotton. We've searched several stores, and can't find this brand or anything even remotely as soft and nice. So I have two questions:

    1. What is it that makes a towel so soft and cuddly and nice? Is it that it's 100% cotton? Is there some property, like a thread count for towels, to look for?

    2. Where can we find these Feather Touch towels? The company seems to be in Europe, and we can't find any suppliers in the US.Super soft bath towels?
Usually Egyptian Cotton is the softest cotton they could be this type of cotton to be so soft, or luxurious towels that are very expensive are soft and thick, to supplement these towels that you like so much I would suggest buying the most expensive towel like egyptian cotton or luxury towels, or you could simply look online for those towels that you like so much there is a good possibility that they will sell them online also this could be a description of how the brand of towels type of fabric and not the brand name, look for stores in England online Good Luck !Super soft bath towels?
have you tried bamboo towels? Believe it or not, they are extremely soft! We own a set of green ones and they are fantastic. They almost have a silky softness to them and are very absorbent.

Make sure that you're washing it in the hottest water that the fabric can handle. I scented detergent and dryer sheets will also help. Most importantly, make sure it's thoroughly dry before storing it, and that it gets a chance to dry between uses (if you're the type to use a towel a few times between laundering) Hanging it outside to dry in the sun often helps, as well, but only if well laundered, first.
I have four small kids and they are always getting dirty and sometimes their clothes gets a little smelly.the best thing that i have found to do the job is pine sol.yeah pine sol!fill washer up add a cup pine sol then put your towel in. run wash cycle and rewash in your usally laudry soap. when done it will not smell like anything but your laudry soap. this really does work.hope this helps!
If it is not a bleachable color (white, beige), then wash regularly with white vinegar with your detergent and then add another cup to the rinse, as someone previously mentioned, it acts as a fabric softener and kills the bacteria in your wash water that cause the odor in the first place.
Wash it again and add 1/2 cup of baking soda or borax to the wash. Also, add 1 cup white vinegar to the rinse cycle. Vinegar deodorizes, kills germs, and works as a fabric softener. The vinegar smell dissipates as it dries.
Bin it! If you've had it a while and it stinks, get shot of it.

If you don't like the idea of throwing it away, give it to a charity shop or something.

Either way, treat yourself to some new ones
wash it in the hottest water you can using a half box of baking soda, if that doesn't work, throw it away.
pour one cup of Vinegar in the rise cycle it will get the smell out and also a good softener
Soak it in baking soda or use clorox.
throw it out and buy new!

If your EX transformed into a bath towel, and you found it in your bathroom, what would you do?

It was a normal towel but had a picture of them on it, they had been transformed and was a picture on the towel. They couldn't move or do anything, but they were still alive. What would you do? And what would you say to them?If your EX transformed into a bath towel, and you found it in your bathroom, what would you do?
    Throw it out.

How do you fold a Big Bath Towel?

like you do a small face towel. How do you fold a Big Bath Towel?
Fold it in half once, fold it in half again, then fold it in thirds! How do you fold a Big Bath Towel?
Fold it in half longways, like a paper airplane. Then fold it in half the other way, like a dollar. Then fold it in thirds, like a letter.
shortest ends together, then in thirds long ways. Or fold the short ends together and roll it and put in a basket.
Assuming you mean on a bath rack to hang, this is what I do, seeing I have one:

Fold the towel in half%26gt;Slip it over the rack, so half of each side is hanging from each side
    Neatly.

Why do we wash bath towels when we only use them when we are clean?

If you had seen some of the stains after my family have used them, you wouldn't ask that question. Why do we wash bath towels when we only use them when we are clean?
because they end up smelling all musty and damp if you dont .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Why do we wash bath towels when we only use them when we are clean?
Towels get wet when we dry off with them and they pick up particles of dry dead skin, and hair. Before they dry there is the opportunity for organisms to grow on the towels. If they don't get washed after a while they start to stink.
i thought this today as i was about to wash the bath towels....if you had kids you would soon realise that the dirt doesn`t come off in the water, only on nice clean white towels.
    cause they would stink otherwise!!!!!
cos all the dead skin cells are attached an after a week or so will start to pen an ink
    Wet towels are bacteria heaven.
When you wipe down after a shower you are putting your dead skin cells still atached to you onto your towel, what ever was not washed down the drain after getting squeeky clean, or so we all thought. It just works that way.

    cheers
humidity, and where you trow them gets them dirty. plus, of course we are not as clean as u think!
We can never get all the bacteria off of our skin thus where does it go after bathing....yep..on the bath towels. If you don't believe me , stop washing your towel for a few days..let it dry, reuse , reuse, reuse. It will start to stink and you may also land up with some nice itchy rashes.
Trust me, if it's been round my husbands **** there is no way I am not washing it!!!
Another silly question ';Do only dirty people bath';?
If they are not dried quick enough the will start to smell....we also can sweat when just out of the bath and this also adds to the smell, so i will always wash mine......
Gross!! All that dead skin and everything.
because they start to smell lol
Wet materials start smelling unless there washed
Did you think of \the wisecrack yourself or pinch it from somewhere?
because they get wet and collect bacteria, mold and mildew pours from the air and surfaces that they touch that aren't clean and then they start to smell
Because everytime you hang them to dry, especially if you live in a humid area, they can get skin cells stuck to them %26amp; then the mold, %26amp; other grugies in the world stuck to them.
Bath towels are wet after you dry off. Depending on how you hang them to dry they can retain bacteria or others fungi. Don't forget wet items can become moldy and smelly.
..because they dry very intimate places....
are you for real!!!! what about all the dead skin cells that rub off when you dry,,,yuck
OK, number one person uses it, dabs face, neck, under arms. wipes top of body, lower half, all the crevices, personal places, in between toes etc., leaves towel to dry ready for next person.

Now if you are person number two, are you seriously happy to start drying your face, knowing all the other places that towel has been, even if its some one you know and love??? No I did not think so.

How can I get candle wick off a bath towel?

two things ,one -put it the freezer ,but i don`t think you need to damp towel , it i would do it dry be honest ,or

two- you could iron it with a brown paper bag or brown paper ,put the paper over the wax on towel and iron off ,it comes off on to the towel ,i know these will both work as it`s the exact same thing for chewing gum!!!(brown paper works best )

Good luck !!!How can I get candle wick off a bath towel?
I assume you mean candle wax. I would scrape off as much as you can, and then iron the towel between layers of paper towels or newspapers to absorb the wax.How can I get candle wick off a bath towel?
lay the bath towell on a ironing board or flat surface. lay parchment paper or a paper towel over the wax and then lay a cotton handkerchief over the parchment or paper towel. Run a warm iron over it and the wax will loosen and attach it's to the paper.
dampen the towel with water and put it in you freezer overnight. Once it freezes the candle wax will break off the towel
    I think you mean wax

you can use your iron and a paper towel or wax paper.Put paper towel over spot and keep ironing over it till all wax is removed. I've used this several times to get wax off my carpet..works great

How many days do you use the same bath towel?

simple keep it clean and stuff still usable you can use it up to 3 or 4 days. How many days do you use the same bath towel?
i use mine for about 4 showers. How many days do you use the same bath towel?
    Once
i go from the shower to the laundry
one for my hair and one for my body...then my husband uses them after he showers. =) I think hes crazy cause I use them only one time. He says it saves ME laundry...smiles!!
Until it falls apart. Same as my clothing.
I use 2 towels a day. One for my hair one for my body then they are into the dirty clothes.
about 3 showers. when you shower you use soap and water so you should be clean.
Only twice. Germs tend to (believe it or not) accumulate on the towels because after you use them, they are damp, and stay that way for a while. I use one for my hair and one for my body, and after two showers, into the laundry they go, along with hot hot water.

How often shall we change the hand towel, bath towel, bedsheets, etc...?

What is the healthiest? For example they say you shall change the hand towel you use everyday. And they also say for the face you shouldn't use a towel, instead use paper towel.

And the bed sheets? Is it the best to changethem once a week or every three days?

Is there a doctor out there who knows about the bestthing to do?= Please help. Cheers. How often shall we change the hand towel, bath towel, bedsheets, etc...?
I'm not a doctor, but I'm in the healthcare field, and have allergies, so there's some basis to this.

Towels are fine for 3 to 5 uses, as long as you hang them up and leave the bathroom door open to let them dry thoroughly. You should only need to change hand towels once a week or so.

For bedsheets, once a week is fine. If you have allergies, vacuum the mattress in the process, since it will remove some dust and dust mites. Wash the sheets with chlorine bleach if you can, and avoid strong fabric softeners.

Any more than once a week, and you risk skin irritation from the detergent. How often shall we change the hand towel, bath towel, bedsheets, etc...?
I've always changed them out when they start to smell. Odor indicates bacterial growth and that's not the kind of thing you want rubbing on you.
did you not watch oprah today??? lol
I wash all my towles every sunday when i do laundry
I always change them once a week or even daily if someone has the flu...
for sheets I like to strip the beds every weekend and wash it all really well. For towels, If they get used everyday, they get washed after 2 or 3 days, actually they get changed that often and washed once a week. Hand towels, face cloths, dish cloths and dish towels get changed about every 3 days, unless they get dirty before then. I usually wash everything of my son's every few days, everything used on him I mean, he may be little still, but he gets dirty at every meal, my husband seems not too far behind him some days.

Guests always get clean towels each time. I never make my guests use the same towel(s) more than once, I have enough of them I change them up and wash the used ones. Sometimes it is just easier than letting the used one hang dry, especially when you have a house full and everyone wants to have a shower everyday, myself I use the same towel for 2 or 3 days in a row, so long as it gets dried between times and still feels and smells clean.

Does wiping a foggy mirror off with a bath towel damage it?

noDoes wiping a foggy mirror off with a bath towel damage it?
Not unless its a very rough bath towel that would be able to scratch glass. Most likely, it will just cause streaks by releasing dust and oil caught on the fibers of the towel onto the mirror. I simple alternative is to blow the mirror with a hair dryer on high setting for about 5 seconds. No streaks! (except for any that may have been there already)Does wiping a foggy mirror off with a bath towel damage it?
Yes it is so. A bath towel is made up of the following organic compound

    (C2 - H24- O11).2

This compound has a natural affinity for glass material. Glass is mostly sand and contains Silica (Si), found in abundance in nature. The H24 and Si conglomerate cause the formation of twin-peptide molecues that are known to harm glass.
If it is a terry cloth towel than no. A lot of cheaper fabrics actually have traces of fiber glass in them (I know...weird) so over time the mirror will become scratched. That is why an eye doctor only recomends cleaning your glasses with a terry cloth....for that same reason.
no but it does sometimes leave streaks.the best way to de fog quickly if you have outputs in your bathroom is to use a hairdryer.

If you don't then just keep wiping with a towel it will not harm your mirror at all :-)
it wont damage the mirror, no! but it will leave those wiping marks untill the mirror is cleaned again.. its like writing your name on a foggy mirror or window, it will come back every time the window or mirror is foggy untill its cleaned
I've heard that it can scratch it, but you wipe your windows with paper towels that have little pieces of wood in it. I think it just makes it have a lot more streaks when it dries.
No but if you don't like it, use tissue paper. Bath towels are for your skin. Its best to use something else for the mirror.
NO, it just causes a smudge that when it dries may streak and leave a residue.
to what the mirror or towel? No, no harm. There are some anti-fog products that reduce the need to wipe.
damage the mirror or the towel?
No, the bath towel will be fine.
    If your wiping to hard
no but if it dries like that it has water marks but those will wipe off
after a while it scratches it.

    no big deal thoughhhh
no wont do it any harm at all
    nope
    no

If it was an evil ex then I'd wipe my *rse with it. If it just didn't work out and I still kinda have feelings for him I'd hang it on my bathroom wall and use it when I have a shower lol. Just like any normal towel.
i would throw it out in the trash or dumster or put in in a paper shredder cuz i dont want anything to do with my ex and i would grab a different towel to use
Fold it, wrap it and give it as a present to that lovely gay guy living across the street.
either let the dog use it as a summit to lay on or burn it i reali dont likemy ex can u tell lol
I would put him in a washing machine.
i'd clean the toilet with them and then burn them in the garbage can! (i am NOT bitter!) LMAO
i would say stop taking the LSD
I'd use it as toilet paper.
    Wring her dry.
    Shred it.
i think i would just throw it out for the dog to tear up, lol
I would say ''I have run out of toilet paper.' So I am going to use you.''

Are Canopy bath towels a good brand?

i have washed and dried 5 times. there is still lint all over me after i use them. just wanted to know what others thought of this brand and how long will i have this annoying problem?

ThanksAre Canopy bath towels a good brand?
It's normal for new towels to shed lint, make sure to wash them separate this way the lint will not transfer to the rest of your laundry, it takes a while to git rid of lint but it will eventually happen , if they are 100% cotton ,make sure to clean the lint trap of your drier every time.

Why do we wash bath towels if we use them after we are clean?

Because they get wet, providing a nice place for fungi and bacteria spores to land and grow. After about a week or two they grow enough to start producing fairly pungent odors.

Also when you dry off with a towel dead skin cells are transfered from your body to the towel providing food for those fungi and bacteria. Why do we wash bath towels if we use them after we are clean?
Because although you are so called clean by using the towel you wipe off thousands of skin cells onto it which after a short time take on a life of their own so to speak lol...Why do we wash bath towels if we use them after we are clean?
because even though we are clean..our bodies do shed skin cells which cause the towels to be dirty...plus whatever bacteria comes from having a damp towel around.
We wash them because they collect body soil and who knows what else. Think about it, you dont wash a towel for say about a month. Do you know how much bacteria and dirt collect on that towel, and Im pretty sure you dry your face with it. Do you want feet and butt bacteria on your face after you think you are clean, I think not.
    Because... clean is relative.

Just because someone is 'clean', doesn't mean I want to rub my face on all of their '2000 parts'.
They still a little moldy when they dry after you hang them up. I know my towels need a wash at least weekly if they're not all gukky from something my daughter gets into or my husband after he's worked on the Jeep.
not we are not clean.. and a damp towel in a humid bathroom it a breading ground for all kinds of yuckies
Because when you wipe yourself dry, you are defoliating a lot of skin cells onto the towel. Bugs love dead skin cells!!
That is a good question. I guess it is to keep them clean because after they get wet, they would get smelly and gross since we wipe our bodies with them.
Exactly why do people steal those toot picks from restaraunts? They are perfectly good and I put them right back.
Because...They get wet and when wet towels sit around they get moldy and then they stink.

I can see your rationale though. You still sluff off dead skin and stuff when you dry off though.
backtira issues and funguss as well

    becuase water stay in them
Dead skin build up on towels is an excellent media for bacterial growth.
when you druy off dead skin cells come off you your bady no matter how hard you scrub in the bath the dead skin then rots and it attracts bugs and begins to smell
Even though you are clean, the rubbing/patting of your skin by the towel would cause the towel to collect dead skin cells. Washing the towel, cleans off the dead skin cells.
because if you use them to dry off and then hang them up (or crumple them in a corner like my fiance does) they start to smell. If you wash them and dry them either in a dryer or by hanging them up outside then they get to be fresh and clean (and not ridden with bacteria)
thats a funny question because they make contact with your inner body
For the same reason that you don't eat food off the floor even after you just mopped it. You can't see the ';real'; dirt.
Clean is good.. when towels are dirty u might on a accident....(not even knowing it) Might pick up a dirty towel and wipe ur face and that certain person wiped off his/her body with it.. =P
eeew. my friend doesnt wash his.. my when i use my towel - i get right in my but-crack! right on my.. well you know.. and hey.. what if you accidentally use that bit next time on your face?
    It's called......HIGHEEN!
dead skin cells, mold, mildew ect...

How many times can you use a bath towel before it is ';dirty';?

    Once!!!

I feel no different at home about fresh laundry/linens, than I might at a hotel.

Certainly in some measure your Q relates to ';Levels'; of ';clean'; and personal hygene habits and preferences.

Steven WolfHow many times can you use a bath towel before it is ';dirty';?
The buildup of body oils, soap residue, shampoo and conditioner, house dust all provide a bacterial breeding ground that is accelerated by periodic rewetting. If daily washing is extreme, then every third day at least! How many times can you use a bath towel before it is ';dirty';?
i wash mine every two weeks.im busy.
I use mine 2-3 times before I get a new one, to wash that one.
Providing you bathe well, it shouldn't become dirty at all. However, I use mine once and then toss them in them in the hamper. I like fluffy.
Assuming that you are clean when you get out of the bath, the logic would be that the towel would never become dirty. However, if hanging on a towel rack drying, it would collect dust and pollutants from the air. Many factors would play in to determine when it is actually time to wash.
    Once.

Although you are drying a ';Clean'; body you are actually removing dead skin cells.
Until there are enough dead skin cells on it to clone a person. Ha Ha Ha! Just joking; really, I use mine 3-4 times. But be sure you have a system so you don't use the butt end on your face :-p
well, I do change towels every moday and thursday... Not because they get dirty, but I love the smell of a clean, soft towel!

    Great question!! :)
I wash my towels once a week. I think that's ok because I'm drying off a clean body and hair.
are you dirty after a shower... lol
I wash mine at least once a week. Sometimes twice, but generally once.
I will use mine at least 4 times before I wash it. After taking a bath/shower you should be clean, so you are just drying off with the towel and then hopefully hanging it on the towel rack to dry. Washing towels or anything very much will wear stuff out quicker.
I have used mine up to a week. .....tossed them in the dryer and fluffed them back up during that time. I like the clean smell of soap and stay away from products that are loaded with fragrances .......depending on how well one rinses....these products can remain on the towel. Your question was a good one....I've often wondered about that....thanks
Rotate weekly, however, it depends on how often you use the towels... how humid the climate/season.

When laundering towels, machine wash in warm water with similar colors. Be sure to wash brand new towels before use, to remove any excess dye from deeptone and brilliant colors. Always wash dark colors separately, and avoid chlorine bleach. Tumble drying will enhance the softness of your towels. Remove dry towels promptly from your dryer, shake them out, and fold.

Do NOT use fabric softeners or dryer sheets on your towels! Washing in fabric softener coats the terry fibers with silicones, and will actually make towels less absorbent. To freshen towels and keep them smelling sweet, add a half cup of baking soda to the wash cycle. You'll end up with extra-fresh smelling towels!

If you're hanging your towels outdoors to dry, shake them out before hanging, and shake them again before folding. This fluffs up the terry fibers, making the towels soft and absorbent again. During summer's humid months, don't let wet towels hang in the bathroom all day. Toss them in the dryer for five or ten minutes, to speed drying. Then hang them up, and they'll dry in an hour or two. Remember that towels need more frequent laundering in warm, humid weather.
Since I don't have a bath mat near the shower I rotate towels. The one I dried with yesterday becomes the bathmat to stand on today. So I use them twice, once to dry with and once to stand on.
when it gets dry and when you pick it up and it stays the same shape and its hard and crusty
When it gets dark, so it depends on the colour......

Although it can get dump n smelly if u dont dry it properly all the times...

    Funny question!
I use mine 3 -4 times before washing them.

How many times do you use a bath towel before washing it?

Just once or do you use it couple times before washing it? I'm just wondering because I have way too much laundry all the time. 5 people in our house and I've been trying to do one load a day and it's still getting piled up.How many times do you use a bath towel before washing it?
There are four of us, each has their own towel for use after bathing (they are different colours which helps to identify which one belongs to whom) and I try to only wash them once a week.

As long as they are left out to dry on a clothes airer or on the towel rail (not left lying on the bathroom floor) they are fresh enough for a few more uses. It is a good idea to not dry any of one's private areas with the towel if it is to be used again though, they are best tried with some toilet tissue.

It would definetly cut down on your laundry big time if you encouraged more frugile use of the towels in your house. I manage to do only about four wash loads each week using my method of towel use.How many times do you use a bath towel before washing it?
When it comes to expense, using towels for the week is the way, but if you want to know what is sanitary. Changing your towel everyday is correct. Everyday that you use them, you are wiping away skin flakes, and a host of other things, that go with it. Then you let that towel dry, then wet it all over again the next time you use it wiping back over yourself each time you shower the same skin cells, and dirt. It can cause problems. especially for women who use a towel to dry between their legs, and your butt crack? if your going to use the same towel, just have two, one for your face only, and one for everything else

    Thanks
I grew up in a house with 6 people, my mother taught us to do our laundry since we were around 10, that left her to do laundry for her, my dad and all the linen. I'm pretty sure that helped her a lot on the washing loads and it made us be quite responsible and aware of our laundry.

Now that I have my own home, I wash the bath towels once a week, since each of us has their own towel and no one exchanges them.
I use the same towel all week and hang it up when I am done. Look your clean when you get out of the shower/bath or dry your hair so it's not like it gets dirty. My brother who lives with me does the same. It's still a clean towel.
I wash my bath towel, hand towels, and wash clothes every week. So I use my bath towel for a week, and then I wash it.
If everyone uses their own towel, it should be fine to use it for 4 to 5 days, as long as it is hung up and thoroughly dried.
I use my towel 2 or 3 times as long as I hang it up. No point in using a new towel every single time.
    just once

How do you eliminate bath towel lint. I am not using fabric softner. Lint is all over the bathroom.?

A fabric softener sheet should do it. The only other option I can think of is to buy cheaper towels - may produce less lint. How do you eliminate bath towel lint. I am not using fabric softner. Lint is all over the bathroom.?
I think you answered your own question. Use fabric softner. I use liquid on clothes and the sheets on my towels. Liguid seems to rebel water from your towel when you dry off. Sheets do keep the lint in control.

if i cover the surface with a bunch of toys will that help?Is it ok to use a bath towel for my guinea pigs bedding?
ITS DEFINATELY OK TO USE A TOWEL AS BEDDING!!! i have two guinea pigs, and i used to use towels. now i use fleece, though. it was very much better than aspen or pine shavings. its easy to kleen too! just empty it out, in the trash then wash it in the washer. dont use fabric softenr though... u can use soap, but fabric softner is bad for the pigs...Is it ok to use a bath towel for my guinea pigs bedding?
Eww. Just change the cage like everyone else does. Yes, it's a little bit more work, but a pet is a responsibility.
i guess it is but it might bite the little fuzzy and it could probably get stuck in its throat!! So be careful or you can just go to google and see some other safe beddings!!
Sure you can. Fuzz is no problem.

I've never seen a guinea pig play with a toy. Strange.
It is ok, but that bath towel will get REALLY dirty. Insanely.....
yes but fleece would be much safer

How many washes does hotel do for bath towel until it changes to a new towel?

    Usually hundreds.

Depends on the quality of the towel and

    how they wash them.

We never ever bought new towels just because they had been washed or used so many times. They were only replaced when they were looking sad and lost their fluffiness. How many washes does hotel do for bath towel until it changes to a new towel?
At the hotel I worked in, they would wash and use towels as long as they looked good. Once a towel got a rip or a hole, it was cut up and used for cleaning towels. The same was done for washcloths and such. Because new towels are being added into the old towel mix, and some towels suffer more ';abuse'; than others, it can't be said for certain how many washes a towel will go through before being discarded. How many washes does hotel do for bath towel until it changes to a new towel?
It probably depends on the quality of the towels they use. Different hotels use different qualities.
It prob depends on the hotel

Walmart bath towels or Tommy Hifiger?

I prefer walmart, expensive towels just smear the moisture around.Walmart bath towels or Tommy Hifiger?
walmart, why pay 25.00 dollars for a towel, when you can get a good one for 5.00 at walmart.Walmart bath towels or Tommy Hifiger?
Walmart. You can get a lot more for your money because you don't have to pay for the name. Nicer towels for less.
Why pay more money when they both do the same thing!!! Wal Mart!!!!
Walmart.. the bane of my existence.
    walmart
    Wal-Mart
I have to go with the walmart towels.. I have three kids
Tommy Hilfiger has made racist statements in the past, so I don't buy his brand! Wal Mart is not much better, but given your choice, it's Wal Mart!
    walmart,i don't like tommy hillfiger

What is the difference between washcloth, hand towel, bath towel and bath sheet?

what exactly do you use them for? What is the difference between washcloth, hand towel, bath towel and bath sheet?
Size and how you use them.

Wash cloth is the smallest and is used with soap to wash parts of your body.

Hand towels are usually hung beside the sink to dry your hands after you've washed them. You left out fingertip towels but these aren't used much these days; they were a bit smaller than the hand towel and often were called fingertip towels or guest towels. In much more formal days these were used in guest bathrooms for visitors.

Bath towels dry your body off after you've soaped and rubbed it with a wash cloth and rinsed the soap off.

Bath sheets do the same thing as bath towels but they're much larger. Many large people like them because they've got more skin to dry but for all sizes of people they wrap around you after a shower and stay in place by tucking a corner in much better than a bath towel.

In the kitchen dish cloths are used to wash dishes and wipe down counter-tops. Dish towels generally are cotton, with little lint, that are used to dry dishes and counter-tops. Kitchen towels are used to dry hands in the kitchen. What is the difference between washcloth, hand towel, bath towel and bath sheet?
Wash cloth--small square...I use it to wash my face between showers.

Hand towel--small rectangle...I use it to dry my hands.

Bath towel--large rectangle...I use it to dry my shower (I use a terrycloth robe to dry my body).

Bath sheet--extra large rectangle..useless, unless you're a giant. Can also be used for a beach towel.
Washcloth's for me is when you are cleaning something, Handtowel's for me is drying your hands off or just for decoration, bathtowel's for me is when u get out of the shower, or tub, and you dry off with a bathtowel, and bath sheets are only regular bed sheets
A hand towel hangs by your sink to dry your hands after washing them, a wash cloth is what you use to bathe with, a bath towel is what you dry off with...and I don't think I've ever heard of a bath sheet
    Wash with washcloth.

  • How many days do you leave a bath towel up?

I get rid of a bath towel the minute I dry my body with it. I also never use a bath towel to dry my hands on if its in someone elses house. Why? because someone may have used that towel to wipe their rear end on.

I am very picky about my linens A bath towel which is sitting there damp is a natural agar for bacterial growth. It is calling the bacteria to come and set up housekeeping on it. Using a bath towel more than once is just grose. I shower every morning before I leave for work and in the evening when I get off. I am not obsessive compulsive, I just work with a lot of pts who have infectious diseases.

Hepatitis can stay on an inanimate object for up to 3 days.

IHow many days do you leave a bath towel up?
Uh. Zero. I use them once, then wash them, and put them in the dryer.

Then the cycle starts all over again. How many days do you leave a bath towel up?
One use only unless you have a vent right below the towel bar. Do you have any idea how much mold and mildew there is on a used towel? It stinks after 2 uses.

    blech
    2
I leave it up about two to three days.
I used to use it twice, then changed my mind once i realized i might be drying my face off with the part of the towel i dried my butt crack off with the day before. ew lol. so i use a different towel every morning.
I use the bath towels 2- Times
    8 or 10 days
each of us uses 1 towel each for 1 week and then we wash them

you really are drying off a clean body and if you hang it up the right way you wont get a yucky smell/
I wash them after I use them once.
If I have use of my private bathroom, 4-5 days for drying towel. About 2 days for hand towel. If I am sharing a bathroom, then 1 use for the drying towel.
If it's a hand towel, maybe 3-4 days; if it's a shower/bath towel that you use to dry yourself with, 2 uses tops!
3-4 if i hang it up everytime

How many times do you use a bath towel before washing it?

Once. Think about it---the towel goes all over and under your body wiping away skin cells and bacteria. Would you want to put it to your face afterwards? That's why I buy only white high quality cloths and towels, so they can withstand all the washing and bleaching I put them through. How many times do you use a bath towel before washing it?
5 daysHow many times do you use a bath towel before washing it?
    i never use a bath towel i prefer to ';air dry';
I will usually use a bath towel about a week before washing it. Seems to make sense, because I'm clean when I towel dry.

Important: hang the towel to dry in between uses. Don't bunch it up or leave it in a heap.

As long as your towel dries thoroughly between uses, it won't start smelling very soon or accumulate odor-causing bacteria.
    Twice
Sorry lol i use a new one every day! I've got it like that!!!!!!!!!
I wash my towels weekly. I use two one for the gym and another for home. The one that I use for the gym i have to wash about 3 times a week. It depends on the person, but everyone should wash it at least once a week.
1 week, or until it starts smelling funny.
2-3 times is okay. Just hang it up to dry after each use, to avoid mildew.
    Twice.
The answer to this question would depend on the person that is answering your question. As for myself I may use a towel 2 times,as long as the towel doesn't have any bodily fluids on it and did not have a foul smell to it. If you use a towel when you work out at the gymn and wipe sweat on it, I would only use the towel once. If you are a female and get blood on the towel I would not reuse the towel.
3-7 days. or when it starts smelling ..
One of my phobias. I only use it once as there are other people in the house and just the thoughts of someone else using it drives me crazy.
I wash them after every bath......
I'm single so it can be weeks. With a family I'm sure that dirty hands are being wiped on them and it should be done every few days.
I will use it once because their are other family members in the house who will come in and dry their hands on anybodys towel, but if i lived by my self, and i love long soaks, i would use it twice with an hang dry in between.
