How can you get new bath towels to dry you off like the old ones?

when I buy new towels it seems they have some kind of coating that keeps them from absorbing water like my older towels do.How can you get new bath towels to dry you off like the old ones?

Wash them without fabric conditioner and peg on the line to dry, this usually does the trick.

I always wash them 1st...on new towels U get little fuzzys all over wet skin...real pain so wash real good...to make sure that what ever is holding them together, makes them look good enough for you to buy in the 1st place...will be gone when they come out of the laundry...Good luck!!!
Also, remember that not all towels are the same. Many just aren't as naturally absorbent. They may look and feel nice and soft, but just are not effective.
