What are the best bath towels?

We just received Royal Velvet towels from our Bed Bath Beyond registry and washed them once....they already have snags in them and haven't even been used yet.





I have old JcPenney towels that have been washed dozens of times and still doing well. Just trying to get some input from all of you on the best towels.
