How can i keep lint from getting on my new bath towels when i wash them?

wash only the towels?...do only a load of towelsHow can i keep lint from getting on my new bath towels when i wash them?
The lint comes from being dried at high heat. I put my towels in the dryer on light or air dry or fluff. This just tumbles them around in the dryer with room temp air. Keeps them nice and fluffy and you don't even have to clean out the lint trap on your dryer much.

Good luckHow can i keep lint from getting on my new bath towels when i wash them?
my boss says to use vinegar in the washing machine...i haven't tried it, but she swears by it :-)

oh, and don't use fabric softener/conditioner..makes your towels slimy (only when they're wet tho!) and they don't absorb as much water
no fabric sheets
Actually lint is the little bits of fabric, etc that are shed from clothes, towels, etc in the process of washing. They stick to the clothes in the washer because they are wet, but when the clothes tumble dry they ';fluff'; off and end up (mostly) in your lint trap.

A few suggestions:

1. Clean your lint trap after every load. Can a clogged lint trap start a fire? Possibly, but more than likely your dryer will overheat and you may end up having to re-place the heating element.

2. Wipe down the outside of you dryer (and washer) with a wet cloth after every laundry day. It will remove the lint that collects on the outside of the machine which may end up on your clothes. May as well wipe down the washer at the same time and get rid of the soap and grime that seems to always end up on the machine.

If you have a real problem with lint sticking to clothing, you may even want to wipe down the inside of the dryer.

3. While your at it, wipe down your laundry basket (if it's plastic) on occasion. It gets dirty too, so why toss nice clean towels into a dirty basket?

I keep a trash can in my laundry area where I throw away the lint. I have heard of some people who save it and ';make'; stuff with it. Check out this link for some ideas: http://www.allfreecrafts.com/recycling-c鈥?/a>

I also have a page with cleaning tips, etc. http://www.freewebs.com/jillannemarie/cl鈥?/a>

And a journal with cleaning tips, recipes, etc. http://journals.aol.com/jillannemarie/Ho鈥?/a>

I hope some of this helped.
