hot water and bleach add fabric softener
I put a bit of hydrogen peroxide in the washing machine this kills any bacteria too. If this isn't enough I get some of that colour run remover, think it's made by Dylon. That gets them really white.
For a start you should wash them separately and use a sachet of glow white for every wash. Glow white you can get from any leading super-market- i get mine from ASDA. (assuming you live in the UK)
Wash them frequently. If you find they are not as white as you would like wash at a higher temperature possibly 90degrees.. This will make them much whiter. Do not use this high temp. every time though.
Try a detergent additive like Oxyclean , a cup of white vinegar ,or wash them periodically the old fashioned way, with hot water and bleach.
Whenever they are used, wash them. Wash them with white towels only and bleach them and use a tad bit extra soap. Not too much tho. this should keep them white!
I use oxi clean with all my whites and bleach. It keeps all my whites looking bright. If I have a big problem some times I buy a product made by RIT in the cleaning ailes at wal mart. It's right with all the RIT dyes. It brightens all your white clothes.
Bleach and use fabric conditioner to soften them again.
er, wash them
You can buy these little sheets that you put in with your washing they are called Keep it white, they take all the unwanted colour out of your whites, they are really good you can even see the colours on the sheet when it has finished.
Just stick to washing whites together using a good soap-powder.
An occasional rinse with bleech.
