My bath towels have a smell to them and normal washing isn't helpingMy bath towels stink how do I get them fresh again?
Wash your towels in hot water with 1 cup of bleach and rinse twice. All towels should always be washed this way because they are the #1 way to pass bacteria. The bleach will disinfect your towels and take away the smell.

When washing add a little vinger.
Make sure you get them absolutely dry, and use fabric softener in washer or the dryer sheets. They may be souring in the dryer if they are damp and left to sit.
Do what everyone else said, but, also make sure you dry them right away without letting them sit in the washing machine.
Try adding a cup of baking soda to the wash cycle. It will remove the odor.
You might want to try adding 1 cup or so of ammonia. I have tried it and it works. Gives towels a very crisp smell.
You should be careful, though, and don't smell the cup or the washing machine tub after putting it in because ammonia is VERY STRONG. If possible, make sure the area is ventilated.
Wash with Tide Soap, and in the dryer just use 1 or 2 Cling-Free, and enjoy the beautiful smell of freshness.
Use a little bleach in your water. Bleach is a miracle worker. :) arum
Since you didn't say if they were color or not... don't bleach them unless they're white.
You really need to change laundry soap! I'd also try adding a detergent booster like Clorox 2 or Borateem. If you have access to it, I'd also line dry them in the sun a few times. I know they won't be as soft as they are from the dryer, but the sun might help eliminate some of the smell too.
