How to keep my bath towels soft?

i wash my bath towels, add fabric softener, hang on the clothes line, take them off %26amp; they are hard %26amp; rough %26amp; sometimes stiff.

I live in Australia, can anyone helpHow to keep my bath towels soft?
Your problem could be that the water is too hard. I would try adding a water softener to your wash load. Many fabric softeners (particularly the liquid type) are made for people who dry their clothes in a clothes dryer. Natural drying with fabric softeners and a different type of detergent (like anything free %26amp; clear, or environmentally friendly) might help with your situation.

Also try shaking your clothes before hanging them up.How to keep my bath towels soft?
I live in New Zealand, and it sounds like your water is hard like ours.

Wash the towels in hot water, don't use softener, but add one cup of white vinegar to the final rinse. Remove from the line before they are bone dry. Fold and place in the hot water cupboard, if you have one.
Tumble dry them
during the rinse cycle, dump in 1 cup of distilled vinegar. be sure to not use any fabric softener for that load. also improves absorbency.
You could try using laundry dryer balls , from experience they are wonderful for softening fabric. They are available at many stores on the web. this is a website you could go to: www.kelcolaundry.com ---
