Just trow it away, its no good, to smelly, just buy a new one there only $3.00 at the .99 cents store.
wash them :P
Use one cap of Pine-sol. I have heard this answer from a couple of people. Goodluck
You dry them out so they don't mildew in the first place!
Wash as usual and put 1/2 cup of vinegar in the rinse cycle....Dry well and the smell will be gone.
For the white towels bleach, for the color towels use a color bleach and about 3 cup fuls of fabric softner with 2 cups detergent. This works for me :)
Spray some Febreeze on them, then wash. And after using the towels, make sure they can be hung unfolded to dry better.
Wash them in a detergent and a little ';Odor Ban'; it's great for everything and is made from natural ingredients.
Wash them with some baking soda and make sure you take them out of the washer and dry them promptly, it is the letting them sit around in the washer wet that produces the mildew order. If you don't want to or can't wash them right away, try some Febreeze on them, it works on just about anything.
Bleach--or a color-safe bleach if they aren't white.

Also, hanging them outside so the sun hits them will help.
Hydrogen Peroxide
Just a quarter cup of bleach with the washload. Don't put in the bleach until the tub is full.
when you wash them and then put them in the dryer make sure they dry fully all the way let them inthere longer than usuall so they get so hot that it kills the bacteria that makes it smelly works greta for me. the ones that are light colored you should wash them with bleach
Bleach did the trick for me! Some of them got discolored, but its better than being smelly!!
Try washing them.

That always helps.
Wash them with a little bleach %26amp; Febreeze fabric softener.

You probably put them away while still damp last time.

Make sure your storage area is well ventilated.
Wash again on a low temp. don麓t add any conditioner. Hang outside in the fresh air , the smell will evaporate with the fresh air
wash them.=] if theyre white, us bleach and when you dry them throw in those nice smelling laundry papers( forgot what they're called).
Try ammonia!
Try washing them more often.
Put 1/2 cup of vinegar in the washer along with your detergent. This will work great for any bad smells in your laundry.
Borax soap it comes in powder form use about half of what you would normally use of reg detergent. Borax soap also removes pet odors from carpet if you sprinkle it on , leave it for about 24 hrs. then vaccumn. also kills fleas and their eggs, and dustmites, using the same method
Wash in hot water and use bleach for colors. Dry completely using fabric sheets. Then make sure the towels are hung up properly after they are used. If a towel isn't dried properly after a shower or bath, then they are going to stink and mildew.
Lestoil!

It's GREAT!
get new towels
wash it with bleach
